Q. How do I access resources if I am not a student or employee at OHSU?

Accessing Resource Materials as a Non-OHSU Community Patron

Unaffiliated patrons can obtain information and resources several different ways:

• Visit the OHSU Library, Monday–Friday from 8:00 am–4:00 pm to access online materials and 8:00 am–5:30 pm to borrow physical books.
• Use free online databases like:
  • Directory of Open Access Journals--Provides access to several thousand free, full-text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals.
  • Free Medical Journals--Provides access to over 4,000 free, full-text medical journals available on the Web. Also available is a free subscription to journal alerts.

• If you can’t visit in person, request PDFs from OHSU-owned materials for $14. To make a request, email libdoc@ohsu.edu. We do not fulfill requests for material outside of OHSU Library’s collection.

• Purchase articles directly from journal publishers for immediate access.

• Use public library interlibrary loan services, which are typically free.
• If you are an Oregon health professional, you may be eligible for additional resources
