Q. I've installed EndNote on my Mac but I'm having trouble getting it to work with my Microsoft Word installation.

One possible cause for this problem is using a version of Word that is incompatible with newer versions of EndNote.  Recent versions of EndNote require Word 2016 version 15.41 at minimum.

You can check which version of Word you have by opening Word, clicking the Word menu, and selecting "About Microsoft Word".  This opens a window that includes the version of your Word application.  If you see any number lower than 15.41, you need to upgrade.
