When you access Library-provided online resources (journals, e-books, databases, etc.), you will need to log in to get past paywalls. There are several easy ways to connect to OHSU Library resources from off-campus:

Recommended starting points

  • Start at the library website from pages like Library Search or the Databases A-Z list to be automatically prompted to sign in with your OHSU credentials.
  • Select the Find@OHSU button on PubMed or whenever you see it on other platforms.

If starting from a search engine or publisher site (e.g., ScienceDirect)

  1. Find the Institutional login or Access via institution button on the content provider's website (this is usually located at the top of the page). On some websites, you’ll need to first choose the Sign in or Login button, and then select OpenAthens as the sign in method.
  2. Search and select OHSU Library (Oregon Health & Science University) from the institution list.
  3. Sign in with OHSU credentials when prompted.

The experience on different websites can vary but, on many platforms, you will have an option to sign in with OpenAthens.
