When you access Library-provided online resources (journals, e-books, databases, etc.) but are are not connected to the OHSU network, you will need to log in to get past paywalls.
There are several easy ways to connect to OHSU Library resources from off-campus:
1. Start from OHSU Library websites (recommended)
Begin your search on the OHSU Library homepage, the A-Z Database list, or Library Search. When you use these links, you'll be prompted to log in with your OHSU Network ID for access.
2. Install the EZProxy bookmarklet
If you find an online resource through a non-OHSU site, you can use the EZProxy Bookmarklet for access. Just add it to your browser's toolbar. Then, when you visit a licensed library resource, click the bookmarklet to get full access.
How to install:
- Firefox: Right-click this EZproxy Bookmarklet link and select "Bookmark Link" to add it to your bookmarks, or drag the link to your Bookmarks Toolbar. If the toolbar is hidden, go to the View menu, select "Toolbars," and check "Bookmarks Toolbar."
- Chrome/Edge: Drag this EZproxy Bookmarklet link to your Bookmarks Bar. If the bar is hidden, go to the View menu and select "Always Show Bookmarks Bar."
- Safari: Drag this EZproxy Bookmarklet link to your Toolbar. If the toolbar is hidden, go to the View menu and select "Show Toolbar."
3. Other access options
Explore more ways to access resources remotely, including via PubMed and Endnote.
