If you want to include link to the full text (PDF) of an article or an ebook or to a database, you will need to create a persistent link. A persistent link will allow anyone with OHSU network credentials to access licensed Library content and it will not change over time.

Here's how find a persistent link:

Articles and Ebooks

  1. Find the item in the Library's catalog (Library Search).
  2. Click on the title to go into the record for that resource.
  3. Under the "Send citation to" section, click Permalink.
  4. Click the Copy Permalink button under the link.
  5. Paste the link into your citation or wherever else you need to use it.

Databases

Option 1:

  1. Go to the Library's Databases list and find the database you want to link to.
  2. Click the Share icon on the right side of the database name and copy the link.
  3. Paste the link as needed.

Option 2:

Many databases provide their own persistent link tools. You will find them under the "Tools" (or similar) section.  Common terms to look for are permalink, jumpstart, copy link, and embed link.

Please note:

  • Do not use the URL in your web browser to link to articles. This is not a persistent link and will not work consistently.
  • Persistent links will not work to access full text for people who do not have OHSU network credentials.
