This problem is usually caused by settings in your browser or citation tools (like EndNote or Zotero) that are trying to route you through OHSU systems, even though you no longer have access.

To fix this, you need to update your settings in tools or services you've used to remove the OHSU Library base URL (https://librarysearch.ohsu.edu/openurl/01ALLIANCE_OHSU/01ALLIANCE_OHSU:OHSU?).

You may also need to:

  • Uninstall any browser plugins related to OHSU Library access
  • Clear your browser’s cache (this helps remove saved settings that might be causing issues)

Update your settings in common tools

Here’s how to check and remove OHSU-related settings in tools you may have used:

PubMed / MyNCBI

  1. Sign in to MyNCBI.
  2. Select Account Settings from the top right corner.
  3. Click the Site Preferences tab, or go directly to Site Preferences.
  4. Under PubMed Preferences, click Outside Tool.
  5. Uncheck "Oregon Health & Science University Library - Find @ OHSU" under "O."

Google Scholar

  1. Log in to your Google account and go to Google Scholar.
  2. Open the menu and choose Settings.
  3. Select Library links.
  4. Uncheck "Oregon Health and Science University Library - Find @ OHSU."
  5. Click Save.

Zotero

  1. Open Zotero and go to Edit > Settings.
  2. In the General section, scroll down to Locate.
  3. Under Resolver, remove the OHSU base URL.

EndNote

  1. Open EndNote and go to Edit > Preferences.
  2. Select Find Full Text.
  3. Uncheck the following options:
    • DOI
    • PubMed LinkOut
    • OpenURL
  4. Delete the OHSU base URL from the OpenURL Path box.
  5. Remove any content from the “Authenticate with” URL box.
  6. Click OK to save changes.
