Q. Are there any tools for finding journals to submit manuscripts to? Can the Library help with this?

I'm looking for a tool that allows me to paste in my manuscript abstract and returns a list of journals for which the manuscript might be a good match. Does anything like this exist? Can the library help me find good candidates?

Here are some of the journal finders available. Publishers often have their own tools, which are typically specific to the journals they publish.

JANE (focuses on journals found in PubMed)
Elsevier Journal Finder
Wiley Journal Finder (Beta)
SpringerLink Journal Finder
Taylor & Francis Journal Suggester
EndNote Manuscript Matcher (accessible from the EndNote Add-in tab in Microsoft Word, which sources data from the Web of Science database. Note: The OHSU Library does not have a Web of Science subscription)

They all have limitations, particularly the ones that are publisher-specific, but both JANE and the EndNote Manuscript Matcher should be able to make suggestions from many publishers.

Alternatively, the Library can conduct a journal search for you, based on a search using the specific topics found in your abstract or manuscript and your specific publishing goals.
