Q. Why am I getting overdue notices for a book I returned?

Answer: The book still shows as checked out in our system.

A few things might have happened:

1. The book was put back on the shelf without being checked in.
2. It was missed when we emptied the book drop.
3. It’s still in your possession—possibly overlooked when other books were returned.
4. If returned by mail, the package may have been lost.
