Q. How do I submit my thesis, dissertation or capstone to the Library?

The Library requires graduating OHSU students to submit an electronic copy of their master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation, capstone or portfolio, so that it may be added to the Student Scholar Archive.
Students should submit the electronic copy of their work in PDF format along with the document submission form to ethesis@ohsu.edu at least two weeks before signed forms are due in the Graduate Office. If you are having trouble converting your work to a PDF, the Library workstations are set up with the necessary applications to do so. Limited support can be arranged prior to submission. Other files, such as audio, video or images, may also be included. If files are too large to be emailed, students may submit their electronic copy using Box.
Options for electronic publishing to the OHSU Student Scholar Archive:
- The document is published as "open access" and is made available for immediate worldwide access. (Library preferred option)
- The document is published on a "delayed" or "secured" release. (Reasons for this may include: waiting for publication of specific sections of the thesis; waiting for patent applications to process; other valid reasons determined by the school, with guidance from the thesis advisor and student. The maximum period for this delay is three years. At the end of this time, the thesis will be released for worldwide access).

The OHSU Library no longer accepts print copies of theses/dissertations/capstones/portfolios. Students should check with their departments for any additional requirements.
