The Library recommends using permalinks from the Library catalog (Library Search) or our Databases list whenever possible. However, you can also create manual links with the OpenAthens Redirector prefix.

Use this method to build a link to Library resources:

  1. Find the persistent link you would like to use for the article, ebook, etc. (ex: Ovid eTOC email links).  Note: please make sure you are using a persistent link, not a session-specific link.
  2. Copy that persistent link to notepad or any text editor.
  3. Add the OpenAthens Redirector prefix to the front of that persistent link: https://go.openathens.net/redirector/ohsu.edu?url=
    For example:
  • The direct link for Ovid is: http://gateway.ovid.com/autologin.html
  • To make the link works for everyone from anywhere, the final link that you'd wanted to use would be:
    https://go.openathens.net/redirector/ohsu.edu?url=http://gateway.ovid.com/autologin.html

For additional information, please see our FAQ on how to create persistent links for articles, ebooks, and databases the Library subscribes to.
